Activities in Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) increased in deal value and frequency in the last decade, especially in knowledge intensive industries involved in Research and Development (R&D), and are likely to soar in the future. Hence this thesis deals with the challenge of integrating R&D in M&A. The target is to investigate the challenges and threats involved in the integration process, and to examine possible solutions and strategies to tackle them.
